This new version of Modern Merchant features a theme management interface and other enhancements. Also new is the plugin management interface that allows plugins to be enabled and disabled. Both themes and plugins can now provide information about themselves to the administrator user. Numerous small bug fixes and additional enhancements round out this release.

Today, Modern Merchant is ranked #294 in terms of project activity at Sourceforge.net. That doesn't sound very impressive until you consider that there are more than 100,000 projects hosted at the open source project host. That puts Modern Merchant at the top 0.18% of all projects.

The new theme system is in place and functioning, although it will see some additional polish in the next few releases. Also, there are a number of bug fixes.

After several months and some hard work, Modern Merchant 0.5 is available for download. This new release features PayPal Website Payments Pro to the list of supported payment methods.

The plugin system acquired some significant enhancements that will help make Modern Merchant a plugin-centric, modular application.
