This version is intended to work end-to-end. Two payment methods are supported, and all the basic functionality is in pretty good shape. There should only be one more alpha version before the betas.

In conjunction with the new year, the past week has seen some work on the next version of Modern Merchant. This version is a re-write of the code base. How complete of a re-write remains to be seen, but certainly the basic architecture is a complete rewrite. The new Modern Merchant will be quicker, more simple, and easier to learn for developers.

This release is a refinement of the bug fixes in version 0.5.5. This release only affects those who upgraded to 0.5.5 from earlier versions.

This release resolves two major bugs that made adding products, categories and other records impossible. Also it fixes a bug in determining the default category in the catalog.

Yesterday, Modern Merchant ranked #165 in project activity at Sourceforge.net. There are more than 100,000 projects hosted at the open source project host. That puts Modern Merchant at the top 0.10% of all projects. That's higher than many well-known projects, such as OSCommerce.

This is a bug fix to the installer for users upgrading from a previous version of Modern Merchant.
